Introduction

The success of this programme, initially and long term, depends on the support and involvement of Kawau Island’s community. Auckland Council is committed to working with you, keeping you up to date and listening to your feedback.

Kawau Island Operations Update August 13th - August 17th

Night hunting operations will take place from Wednesday August 13th through to Sunday August 17th, where landowner permission has already been granted. 

WHAT: 

  • Targeted Night Hunting (firearms with suppressors, strict safety protocols in place)
  • Further Site Familiarisation – if you would like to meet the team or point out anything specific on your property, please contact your community liaisons to arrange a time.

WHERE: 

  • Block 8 (refer to map above) — ONLY on properties where access has been granted. 

WHEN: 

  • Wednesday August 13th – Sunday August 17th  
  • After 6pm
